Thanksgiving
Wednesday we all slowly woke up around Hillary's house and had pancakes for breakfast. I was so excited to see Callie and Jack that I wanted to wake them up but for the sake of Hillary's sanity, I waited for them to get up on their own. Later on we went to my mom's house and then shopping for the events of the next day. Below us we see Darcy browsing a magazine as we're waiting for G-ma Green and Aunt Lorie.
The chaos that was our Saturday.
When we were growing up, we would visit Grandma and Grandpa Green at their house in Mesa. Upstairs they had a pool table and a shelf with their bowling trophies that they'd won. Grandma Green played Wii Bowling with Callie and just barely took the victory! Callie is pretty awesome at the game. She put Grandpa Green to shame!
Sunday morning at the Divis house. Callie sleeps like a rock! Jack was making so much noise. I felt bad for the little guy....I babysat them Friday night and the track was the first thing he saw when we got inside and he was so excited to play with it and I wouldn't let him. I found out later that he'd never played with it before because there wasn't room for it in the old house. I had a talk with him about it the next morning and we hugged it out.

All that Jazz!
Last night my friend Michelle called me up and asked if I wanted to go to a Jazz game with her. Her roommate and her got season tickets but Tasha couldn't go. Something about being responsible and doing homework. We got there around the tail end of the 2nd quarter and Michelle quickly educated me on all of the players we should and shouldn't like. The played against the Suns! I was torn, I didn't know who to cheer for since I have a mild interest in both. I picked the Jazz since it was home game and Michelle is a Jazz nut.
I can't believe how young the players are! One of them was born in 89! Oh yes, and I was also only 300 feet away from Shaq (Suns). While that still seems far away, most of you haven't gotten that close!
The game was awesome and was pretty even which made it even more exciting. Michelle let me keep the ticket stub for memories :)
Things I'm thankful for:
My quickly aging but durable car
Snow that melts on the street but stays on the lawns
Christmas ornaments

Schtuff
Work has been trying my patience lately. I have an evil manager in the Bountiful office that is THE laziest coworker I've ever had. I'm not allowed to yell at him because he's my manager so I pretty much just have to suck it up. Then there's Jose. He tells us that he worked for NASA but he's been with us for a year and he asks more questions than the new guy. I don't deal well with people that aren't quick on the uptake.
Oh yes, and also Neisha. I have a roommate that's had her bf pretty much living here the past few months so I've given her 30 days notice. She's having him stay over more lately and I'm pretty sure it's just to spite.
So I was wrong, there is a lot going on, just not anything fun :)
One thing that I've decided to do since it's holiday season is leave three things I'm thankful for at the end of my post. Obviously I'm thankful family and things like that so those will go unsaid.
Things I am thankful for:
The internet
My ward
Snow tires

New Do
I voted!
I'm not even going to comment about the results.
On a better note, I ran across a few articles that I want to share. The first is a battle between the FCC and the networks. The networks want to allow the F-word and the courts have told them no. One argument that they used that I think is completely ridiculous is 'What if a "particular remark was really hilarious, very funny? Would that cause the FCC to think twice about imposing a fine?"' So it's ok to lower standards as long as it's funny. That's what the networks were trying to push.

Second is Prop 8 in California. Yesterday the people for gay marriage placed an ad that ran about 30 times depicting LDS missionaries stealing wedding rings and ripping up the marriage license of a lesbian couple.

There's a link to the video on YouTube.
1. I think it's funny that they remember to give one of the missionaries a shoulder bag but don't remember to put fake black tags on the shirt pocket.
2. I've yet to see a lesbian couple that is that attractive.
After 4 1/2 months of legal gay marriages, they have put a ban on that law and it is now illegal for gay people to be married.

I Can't Sleep
Instead of going out for Halloween, I decided to stay in and have a few people over. I'm SO glad I did that! I had more fun passing out candy to kids than I have ever had dressing up and going to a party. Plus it was fun to see how excited they got when I told them they could take more than one piece. Several children turned their hand into the claw that pulls out stuffed animals and grabbed like 10 pieces! Probably because I had the good candy. The pizza guy also hit on me, which is flattering and creepy at the same time because he was 5'4" mid 30's and spoke very little english.
Megan, Jeff, and Ben (long time friend I haven't mentioned till now) came over and we watched Edward Scissorhands because neither of the guys had seen it. During the movie I was head bobbing but got a second wind (thank you mtn dew!) after if had ended. We talked until 11 and then Jeff got up and left. Ben was a good sport and stayed a while but also head bobbed while Megan and I were talking. He left around 12:30. Megan and I stayed and talked until around 2:30. Neither of us had any idea that it was that late! Poor Megan had to be up around 9 the next day and had a full 8 hours of work.
After Megan left, I cleaned up as much as my energy would allow and didn't fall asleep for another hour. I know, 3:30! I slept until 9, ate, watched an episode of Man Men and then back asleep until 2. Thank goodness for Jeff calling, otherwise I would have been fine with sleeping even more.
Tonight we hung out again and played cards and I've had waaaayy to much Mtn Dew. I really am going to pay for all of this tomorrow.
Also, I gave myself bangs today and I thought they were ok but I looked at myself in the mirror after everyone left tonight and my first thought was that I looked like a boy. I'll take pictures tomorrow so I can be an example of why people go to salons.

DownEast Sale
DownEast had a warehouse sale that mostly consisted of J.Crew things that I couldn't even squeeze a finger into. BUT, they had Wonder Tees and a few camisoles that were only $2.50 each and dresses at $10. I got 4 camisoles, because I believe you can never have enough, and 1 dress. I also got these cute and painful looking shoes for only $10.
I checked the J.Crew website, these shoes were probably selling for anywhere between $250-$400. How awesome am I?!! I also got the brown shoes below for Callie. They're a size 10 and I have no idea what size she is now, but I know it's not a 10. These shoes can be worn year round so that was my justification in getting them.

Oh-Hi-Oh-Hi-OH
I needed a break from my job big time. (It was only 8:45 AM and I wanted to throw my stapler at Jose) I went to Ohio to visit one of my BFF's Lohol. It's been a loooong weekend. I flew in late Thursday night into Columbus. Lohol lives two hours away and my plane didn't get in until 1am.
The next day we went to the temple for the 10:30 showing. Their video sucked. It's interesting to see how the two churches tell the story of the same thing. One cool thing that they do is after the movie is over, the screen lifts and the curtains open to a huge glass window that allows you to see the Kirtland temple. They wouldn't let us take any pictures of the inside. Since we were a small group, they allowed us to go up on the 3rd floor (rare treat) and see the classrooms. Some of the flooring seemed unsteady and half the time I was expecting to fall through at any moment. The rooms were very sparsely decorated with a piece or two of furniture. One neat thing is that even thought the 3rd floor is like a rectangle divided into 5 sections, they had windows on every single wall so there was an abundance of natural light.
They had bunches of these flowers on the grounds. A girl with the group said they were Dahlias. They are my new favorite flower. If you look closely, you can see how the petals unfold.
Me in front of a pretty colored bush.
The group.
After Kirtland, we went on to the Morley Farm. It was fah-reezing! I was told how nice the weather is so last minute I brought my sweatshirt. I was still chilly.
Sitting on a chair made out of a wood. On the Morley Farm on the hill where they had the schoolhouse.
After the Morley Farm we went to the Johnson Farm. I didn't take any pictures there and haven't seen any from anyone else's camera that I like. So you're all SOL.
Here's a picture of me and Lohol on the way back. I'm so happy because I know that rest is just a few hours away.
The driver kept telling me that I need to dance and I kept refusing. I'm not a car dancer.

What I've Made
A week and a half ago my friend Jen and I went to Color Me Mine. I thought they closed at 9 but turns out they close at 8 on weekdays. We showed up at 7:30 :S The girl was like, really? You want to start now? We said yes because I was set on painting something that night. Here's my bowl that reminds me of a dinosaur.
My fingers are now sticky from a Cinnabon and I'm pretty sure I've reached my 4000 calorie mark for the day. Oh how I love being on vacation where (almost) anything goes!

Busy Weekend

Engaged!
Jeff was asked about their relationship quite a bit this last weekend and he said that they started dating in April (I say May, but he might be right this time) And then he was asked who was more into the relationship first, him or Jenny. He said Jenny and I openly disagreed. He was always asking me to take pictures of them together long before they were dating as well as making stone art (see above) with their initials while they were still in the hang out phase. Jenny may not take my side on this one, but I'm always right on my blog.
Moving on to Jenny herself. Jeff truly is blessed to have found a girl like her. She has the patience that I wish I could have just a fraction of! She is the most easy going girl that I have ever met. Jenny was my first friend in the ward and she is what has made such a difference in my desire to keep going. I love the fact that I can tell her that "I've had it" and she completely understands what I mean. I think it's great when you can become such good friends with a person that you can communicate with looks instead of words. I have had the best summer that I can remember because of Jenny and the friends that I have made because of knowing her.
Roughin It
We had delicious chili with chips and cheese. Throughout the night everyone sat around this huge fire pit that was about 5 feet wide, while others played games. If you know me at all, you don't even have to ask whether I played games or not. We played a card game called Up and Down the River where you have to bet how many rounds you will win for that deal. Jeff and I tied for second, but I was sitting next to the guy that won and he totally cheated, rendering his win false and making Jeff and me the champions! We also played Catch Phrase later on that night. Some of the things the had were utterly ridiculous! How do you explain rubber nipple to a crowd of LDS people!?!?
Me telling them how many I currently had in my mouth
